‘PMDb’ – New Process Management System

PMD has been in development of a new Process Management System since mid-2013.  It is called PMDb, is being developed specifically for our business and is used for every project that goes through PMD.  We have four full time IT personnel and a manager running the development, including bi-weekly update releases.

The goals of PMDb are to clearly outline our procedural steps, identify responsibility for each step and display them in an orderly and legible format to all involved personnel.  This will help to drive consistency in the management of programs, already paying substantial benefits.

All office personnel have PC access to the web based system and the shop floor has four terminals where electricians and equipment builders can review and print drawings, BOM’s and 3D models.  Both our accounting software and Solidworks EPDM are integrated into PMDb for commonality between all company groups and fluid movement between accounting and engineering.
